Make the Switch for Privacy

Make the Switch for Privacy is an event organized next to Global Encryption Day, being the world’s moment to celebrate encryption and everything it brings to our lives, including Privacy on the Internet.

The Global Encryption Coalition, of which Internet Society Belgium is a member, will hold Global EncryptionDay.

It’s a day (and the first of its kind) where anyone and join in to show governments and businesses that strong encryption can help protect their friends and family, build businesses, create jobs, and make the Internet stronger.

Detailed program

On Friday October 22th at 6pm CET, we’ll hold an online event to debate about the danger of a new project of Law in Belgium. This project, if voted, would enable public authorities to access, on request, to any communication over the Internet, including encrypted ones, with the aim of combating crime.

However, if voted, would  introduce security weaknesses in electronic communications endangering anyone. Moreover, criminals could exploit this security weakness.

Learn how encryption is protecting our privacy, and does much more than that, protecting e-commerce and any online activity.

We’ll show you all the actions that Internet Society, Global Encryption Coalition and your local chapter took to make the switch and make this project of Law to be adapted.
